Some frequently asked questions
How do I mount (put bindings on) these skis?
Bring your skis, ski boots, and bindings to any ski shop in your area and ask them to mount your new skis based on the factory recommended mount point. We have indicated this on each ski with a sticker showing the recommended boot center, they'll know exactly what to do. A more extensive list of mounting points can be found on our Mounting & Specs page.
Do bindings come mounted on the skis?
Skis and bindings will arrive in separate boxes. Due to insurance regulations we are unable to mount bindings prior to shipping.
What kind of skins are best?
Our staff prefers POMOCA skins. We find that they fit the best with our unique tip shape.
What drill bit size do I use to mount these?
The recommended drill bit size is indicated on each ski underfoot. If you cannot locate this:
- Use drillbit size Ø 3.6 mm x 9.5 mm tapped for all Renoun skis longer than 165cm
- Use drillbit size Ø 3.6 mm x 9.0 mm tapped for all Renoun skis shorter than 165cm
I would like to return/exchange my skis. How do I send them back?
If you are not satisfied with your skis, please refer to our Renoun Guarantee.
Does this count for Warranty?
Our Warranty details can be found here.
Should I wax my new skis before skiing?
All of our skis ship from the factory with a 'factory wax' that will get you going. However, we always recommend you wax your new skis with the preferred temperature rating in your area for optimal performance and to prolong life of your skis.
What is Renoun's factory tune/bevel?
All of our skis come factory tuned at a 1º base and 1º side bevel.
How much is shipping?
New skis often ship for free within the US, and we ship all over the world for a fee. Please refer to our Shipping page for a full list of details.
Can I get a Pro Deal?
We offer industry pricing to qualified individuals. Visit our Pro Deal page for more information.
What bindings are best for me?
If you are typically skiing on trail at resorts we recommend the Marker Griffon 13. This binding is the most popular in the industry for good reason. It's an amazing choice for almost all skiers and ability levels.
If you're a more aggressive skier or freestyle oriented (leave the ground on purpose i.e. cliffs, jumps etc.) check out the Look Pivot 15. Most of our athletes use this binding because of its ability to withstand impacts (landings) well compared to other bindings on the market.
If you're looking for a ski touring binding we recommend checking out the Salomon Shift 13. The shift is perfect for skiers who want a ski setup they can use as a touring (uphill) setup as well as a downhill setup at resorts. This binding offers the best of both worlds and is an exceptional downhill binding which is why it's our go-to.
Where are these skis made?
All Renoun skis are hand-made in our ski factory in Canada where JF Bouchard and his crew have been bringing them to life since 2015.
