Best Aprés Ski Bars in Steamboat

Posted by Cyrus Schenck on

Aprés bars in Steamboat are good — and you'd expect it from a town that constantly ranks top 10 in the nation for the Aprés life. When there's a party at the main base, it's hard to miss. And when there's not, here's a few of the best spots to check out. I've been fortunate to pass through a few times while starting Renoun Skis and it's always a good time.

Aprés-All-Day: T-Bar

Ski-in/ski-out spot for a mid-day or afternoon beer.

Best Apres Bars In Steamboat — T-Bar

At the bottom of the Christie III lift, The T-Bar has an awesome patio, lots of chairs and great views of Steamboat. Has the basics you'd expect out of an aprés bar — good beer selection, cheap PBR's and awesome people. Perfect if you prioritize drinking beer before taking off your skiboots.

Pro Tip: Ask to play Nails. And if you don't know what nails is, grab a beer, look around for a tree stump full of nails and ask to join — you might loose a finger, but you'll gain at least one friend.

Slope-side Aprés: Los Locos

Nothing is better than Aprés than Aprés with tacos.

Best Apres Bars In Steamboat - Los Locos

Saddle up with a large plate of nachos, a margarita and go make some friends. With a small patio that overlooks the mountain outside and a cozier feel inside, we love Locos for the low-pressure vibe you'd expect out of an aprés establishment. Large portions and the best bang fo the buck at the mountain.

High-Class: The Laundry

Stunning food, amazing cocktails. Pricy.

Best Apres Bars In Steamboat — The Laundry

In downtown Steamboat, The Laundry is by far the best place to sit down for great cocktails and amazing food. Entres are smaller plates great for sharing. If you're just grabbing a drink, we recommend pairing it with tthe charcutarie board to nibble while you sip. The Laundry is constantly compared to some of the top restaurants in NYC and San Franscisco.

Pro Tip: Though 'high-class', the Laundry isn't 'stuffy' or 'proper' — known for friendly and warm people who love to ski.

Local's Pick: Backdoor Burgers

Quirky place with delicious burgers

They may not sell alcohol but these guys know burgers — you won't find any pre-frozen patties here. All fresh and high quality. We've also heard the veggie burgers are made in-house and are worth-while, even if for a omnivore. Pro Tip: get the sweet-potato fries if you're just looking for a snack — delicious.

A true "craft beer" establishment

Best Apres Bars In Steamboat — Storm Peak Brewery

Amazing selection of local brews and a litttle bit off the beaten track so it's not normally mobbed with tourists. They don't serve foot but it's connected to a pizza place (How Ya Doin' Pizza N' Eats) that wil deliver right to the taproom.
