In late March, RenounPro members traveled to Le Miroir, France, for a week in the heart of the French Alps, with expert guiding and hospitality provided by Eleven Experience. Two of our athletes, Matt and Sophia Testa, recap their experience alongside RenounPro members and the Renoun team.

What RenounPro Means to Us

This trip to France with RenounPro was so much more than just a ski getaway. It was a week built around adventure, connection, and shared experience in one of the most beautiful mountain settings imaginable. From the start, it felt like this trip was about more than just skiing incredible terrain. It was about bringing together people from different places, backgrounds, and ages who share a passion for the mountains, the outdoors, and the kind of experiences that stay with you long after you return home.

That is what RenounPro means to us. It is a community built on the idea that skiing can connect people in a really meaningful way. This trip was proof of that. One of the most amazing parts of the experience was how quickly strangers became friends. We arrived in France as a group of 25 people, many of whom we had never met, and left with 25 new friends.

Our Arrival

We all began our journey from different places, with many of us flying into Geneva and meeting at the airport before taking a shared ride to our chalet in Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise. The drive up was unforgettable in itself: a tiny mountain village reached by a steep, winding road, with shuttle buses carefully maneuvering around tight turns on the climb.

When we arrived, we were introduced to the full group: 25 RenounPro members from all over the U.S. Our hospitality team welcomed us and gave us a tour of the two chalets, Hibou and Pelerin, where we settled into our rooms. The chalets were breathtaking. Each guest had a personal gear locker with their name written in chalk above the cubby, and every detail felt thoughtful and inviting. Full of French alpine character, the chalets were built of warm wood and decorated with rich textures, cozy furs, and beautiful mountain-inspired design.

From the gear room to the wine room to the spa, every corner of the property felt special. Each guest had their own ensuite bathroom, stunning mountain views, and access to incredible gathering spaces including an indoor pool, hot tub, cold plunge, and firepit overlooking the mountains. The chalets also had beautiful fireplaces and welcoming community areas where we all came together each evening for aperitifs and dinner. We were greeted with champagne in the family room, and as we settled in, the excitement for the week ahead really began to build.

The Guides

We were introduced to Eleven’s IFMGA mountain guides, whose knowledge, professionalism, and local expertise ensured we were always in the right place at the right time for the best possible experience on the mountain. Before we ever clicked into our skis, we had a comprehensive safety briefing that included avalanche training and gear reviews. Eleven provided top-of-the-line backcountry safety equipment, and the guides made sure everyone felt prepared and confident.

Each evening, the guides carefully reviewed weather and snow conditions to determine which resort would offer the best experience the next day. Their attention to detail and commitment to safety allowed us to fully relax and trust the process, knowing we were in expert hands.

The Skiing

Each day, we divided into groups based on how we wanted to ski — on piste, off piste, or a combination of both. After a beautiful breakfast each morning, we headed out to the resort of the day. The chalet’s location was ideal, putting us just 10 to 20 minutes from a variety of incredible ski areas. During our stay, we visited Saint Foy, La Thuile & La Roserie, Les Arcs, and Val d’Isère & Tignes, each one spectacular in its own way, with conditions ranging from sunny groomers to fresh powder days.

The most fun part of the entire experience was sharing each day together on the mountain, watching members improve, push themselves, and have an absolute blast doing it. There was such a fun, supportive energy within the group, and it made every run, every challenge, and every celebration that much better.

Fresh tracks

One day stood out above the rest: the heli-ski day. Endless fresh powder, not a track in sight, and a helicopter dropping the group onto towering peaks for a day none of us will ever forget. It was the kind of experience that stays with you forever.

The Food

As incredible as the skiing was, the off-mountain experience was just as memorable. Every morning, breakfast was served from the chef’s kitchen to our dining table, and it was always something to look forward to - crepes, avocado toast, French toast, egg dishes, and of course, cappuccinos. By the second morning, the team already knew each guest’s coffee order, anticipating the little details before we even had to ask. We woke up each day excited not just for the skiing ahead, but for the full experience that surrounded it.

Although we split into smaller groups on the mountain, usually with one guide for every four skiers, we would all come back together for lunch to share a meal and share everybody’s accomplishments from the morning. The on-mountain refuges were a highlight, welcoming hungry skiers with incredible French and Italian meals, all paired with unforgettable views. One day that stood out was starting the day in France and skiing over to Italy for lunch, where we were met with a four-course Italian pasta meal.

Evenings in the chalet were just as special. We gathered for aperitifs, chef-prepared appetizers, and beautifully coursed dinners, each dish thoughtfully made and explained by the chef. Every meal felt intentional, warm, and communal. Some of the best moments of the trip came not only from the skiing itself, but from sitting around the table afterward, sharing stories from the day over amazing food and wine. There is something so special about great skiing followed by great meals with great people.

What We Took Away

What made this trip so special was not just the incredible skiing, the beautiful chalets, or the amazing food. It was the feeling of it all. RenounPro created an experience that felt seamless from beginning to end, made possible by exceptional guiding and hospitality from Eleven Experience. Renoun brought together a group of people who may have come from different places and different walks of life, but who all shared the same excitement for adventure, the mountains, and being outdoors.

There was something really special about spending each day pushing ourselves on the mountain, then coming back together each night to laugh, share stories, and relive the highlights over dinner. It is rare to find a trip that feels both luxurious and deeply connected at the same time, but this one did exactly that. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, every person brought something unique to the group, and by the end of the week, it felt like we had all been part of something much bigger than just a ski trip.

We left France with tired legs, full hearts, unforgettable memories, and a whole new group of friends. It was a RenounPro experience we will be talking about for a very long time, and one we feel incredibly grateful to have been a part of, brought to life with the support of Eleven Experience.
